Daily Revit Deliverables for Real-Time Trench Shoring
The Client
The Client is a structural engineering and construction firm with over 20 years of experience operating in the West Coast region, primarily in California. They specialize in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, including highway and bridge construction and multi-family apartment developments. Their expertise spans structural design and construction across various materials and systems, including steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, wood, precast components, retaining walls, and soil/slope stabilization structures.The Problem/Opportunity
The Client required 3D structural modeling support for a trench shoring system project (trench boxes) but did not have in-house capabilities to meet the demand. With construction already underway and delivery timelines in place, they partnered with us to fulfill the modeling and detailing needs within a tight schedule. The project requirements included:- Develop 3D models of trench shoring systems in Revit Structure
- Model various configurations and lengths of trench boxes (20 in total)
- Draft sectional details for each configuration as per county regulations
- Submit one set of trench box models and drawings daily, aligned with the construction progress
